Dani Uspensky, a 19 year old girl, moves to America for college. While she's in college, she meets a boy named Chris Moreau and becomes close friends with her Fine arts teacher Jan Miken, and her family: Brad Miken, her husband, and her son. His name is Sameuellis &quot;Sammy&quot; Miken. 
When Sammy gets hit by a car, Dani and her friends break into a government building and steal a time machine. However, they go back too far and the machine breaks. While her friends Beth and Truman are fixing the machine, Chris, Dani, and Jan need to find parts of their lives directly influenced by other people and make the events happen.
