Sam was just an anti-social kid who didn't talk to anybody but her family and had the attention span of a goldfish.
When the new kid, Tom, starts following her, she immediately tells him to bug off and not to talk to her again. For some odd reason, he finds her interesting, and decides to follow her.
She agrees, as long as he doesn't speak to her.
When they EVENTUALLY become closer, Tom convinces her to step up a twitter, and immediately the previous message popped up.
But Sam doesn't DO talent, so she's stuck on stage with nothing to do. Determined to find her talent, the game show keeps her, sort of as a challenge, like a game, almost.
Yeah, Sam really isn't used to this sort of attention.
