Karkat: "I, Karkat Vantas, have a fucked up home life. Sometimes I wonder why my life turned out the way it did, but other times I figure it is because I haven't been the son my mother wanted. Smart, strong, able to socialize.. Like my brother Kankri. He's not here to deal with our father and the abuse now, and it seems it only happened after he left. Oh God, how I wish I could have gone with him." Dave: I really wasn't glad for this move. Who wants to go from Texas to a town in Washington? That was seriously the total opposite of where I was and I, Dave Strider, along with my brother, Dirk, had made such a move. All my life I had been a good kid, as good as sneaking out and strifing on the roof can get. Now, I was a B average student and worked to keep it that way, though by my actions, people would think I flunk every one of my classes.

He becomes friends with a ton of new people, and even meets the love of his life. There are 2 endings to this book :) I'm aware of how bad this story is, I wrote it a while ago.

Dawson has had it rough. Not as bad as some, worse than others. He lives in constant secret, heart ache and pain. After his parents died he under went a transformation, rendering him unrecognizable. After three years of pain, cutting, and one suicide attempt, he returns to his hometown. As Dawson hides his identity, it will become harder and harder to seal away the truth when faces from the past start revealing themselves, including his gorgeous ex best friend Alec. Only Dawson isn't the only one with secrets and when a lie reaches Dawson's ears, it will take all he has in him to protect the one thing he has left. Himself. Dealing with depression is hard, and Dawson will have to learn it's not something that can be handled alone. He'll have to open up his heart once more, even if it risks him getting hurt, if he wants to achieve happiness. ---------------------------- This is a trigger warning, to anyone that has problems with self-harm I recommend you don't read this as there are some graphic scenes. Also, this is a boyxboy story, so if you don't like hot steamy action between two boys, this is not the story for you. If you don't like it you shouldn't even be reading this anyway and I will not tolerate hate. Dave Strider. Maybe one of the most popular guys in the school. Nobody knows why he's always wearing those cool ironic shades of his, and most people want to find out. But Dave himself wants his eyes to stay hidden, and nobody else has ever seen them. He thinks that if anyone did, they would make fun of him and his good reputation would immediately disappear. The two, basically opposites, find that they actually might get along and relate to each other. But who knows what a simple sentence could do? (this is my second fanfic and the first homestuck one i've ever written so if the writing sucks don't judge! also none of the art is mine. ships included will most likely be johndave at the beginning, and throughout the fic theres gonna be erisol, rosemary, some jadenep, johndirk, and vrisrezi! if you don't like one or more of these ships deal with it.)
