After serving under the tyrant Frieza for most of his childhood, Vegeta moves back into the palace to train under his father to become the next king of all saiyans. However, Y/N worked her ass off, and now her power level is even higher than some of the elites. Kakarot, Raditz, Nappa, and yourself are all a part of Vegeta's Royal guard, and as much as you all annoy him, he admits that you're moderately okay at your jobs. Vegeta wants nothing to do with the ceremony, saying that having a mate will take away from his training time.
