"Darkness is coming that no cat can control..."
For years, two groups of cats have lived relatively peacefully in the back alleys of town. However, this begins to change when tensions start to rise between the two alleys, pushing some cats over the edge to do what they believe is right.
In the midst of this troubling time, a kit is born. Surrounded by whispers of a dark prophecy, Twilight must learn to cope with the cats who view him as a troubling darkness, doomed to wreck havoc on the alleys, and those who see him as an innocent kit. Filled with fear and troubling dreams, Twilight is forced to flee the alleys that he calls home. Soon Twilight discovers a rough life outside the alleys, hidden secrets, and all while working out whether he is truly the darkness that many cats believe him to be.
