15 year old Keyanna McKnight is not just your average girl from the ghetto. She does have her "ratchet" tendencies, but she wants more for herself. With a mother strung out on crack and a father whos nowhere to be found, it wont be easy. Keyanna is determined to make a better life for her and her little sister and get out of the ghetto, even if that means giving up her dream of going to medical school. 17 year old August Alsina is trying hard to survive the cold, hard streets of New Orleans.
