A Modern Joke
As an aspiring writer, it's difficult not to look at stories you love and wonder 'What if?' I have notice how the Joker's origin in The Killing Joke and the Joker movie (2019) both stories take place during the 1980s. But what if it took place today? That's what I try to answer! In this original work I explore how a complex character like the Joker could emerge and be influence by current social problems. It's a romantic, and specially mysterious short story that I wish one day could help me make it to DC as a comic book writer, and if I don't, at least I enjoyed writing it, and I hope you enjoy reading it! Disclaimer: This story is an original idea, of course I reference moments from DC comics and I borrow their characters to tell the story (After all, It's a fan fiction), but each character belongs to the respective owners.Complete

Gacy Wayne, a girl with a very "eventful" past, was stuck in Arkham until an unplanned escape leads her to the outside world. On a mission to take back all the years of trauma she endured at Arkham, she finds herself changing her mind when someone close to her is permanently injured by her old and unkind lover. She takes it upon herself to have revenge on him but slowly tips off the edge as old memories start springing back up about their love. ------ "Well hello there Baby doll" that's impossible there's only one person who calls me that and I haven't heard from them since I was put in Arkham. Nightwing x Red Hood (Jaydick) AU Completed! Dick lost his best friend to the Joker. He wanted to avenge Jason but Batman wouldn't let him kill. After 5 years, Nightwing meets the Red Hood and sees him as the vigilante who's willing to kill the Joker. While Batman hunts him down, Nightwing hooks up with him. He knew it was wrong but he couldn't help it. He was hot even if he didn't know who was under the Red Hood. Jason was all alone for 5 years. He needed to become someone else: Red Hood. He comes back to Gotham, running street gangs. His goal is to kill the Joker, the person who ended his previous life. But he finds that difficult when he meets Nightwing, someone working with his old mentor, Batman. He may not know who Nightwing is but that doesn't stop him from fucking him. Will Red Hood stop the Joker and get peace after 5 years? Red Hood doesn't know the identity of Nightwing and vice versa. ( I thought it'd be cool if they didn't know :) ). I tried to keep personalities of the characters like they normally are. It's written in the perspective of both Dick and Jason but it's third person. I use Red Hood and Nightwing in the other's perspective since they don't know each other. I'm a bad writer so be warned ;) Also I don't own the art. Hope you enjoy it! After a while though, he realises that he can't keep doing this forever, and acts on his feelings. But then Joker goes 'Joker.exe. has stopped working' because he is extremely Bad at dealing with his own feelings. This makes poor Bats second guess himself, and he too struggles with his own feelings. _______ This is extremely Bruce and Joker centric, I don't think Selina even has dialogue- so yeah, just a heads up. ________ For anyone who's been reading as it updates, I upgraded the summary to better suit the plot, it's not drastically diffetent, but is no longer the same as what I wrote 3 yrs ago.
