Elena Gilbert, 19 years old, had lost Stefan Salvatore. He was drafted into the military two years before he died. When two years go by without word, Elena has this feeling that something terrible has happened.
Soon Stefan's funeral comes and Elena is still in her depressed mood, so when she sees Stefan's brother, she didn't think it could get any better. Damon walks into Elena's apartment to discuss funeral plans and instantly sparks fly between them.
Elena, though doesn't want to do this because she feels like she's betraying her dead finacee. Damon's desire is breath takingly strong though. And he will show Elena the real defintion of love.

A baby's cry pierces the air as the midwife passes the baby to the awaiting hands of the father. Damon happily takes the baby from her hands holding her close to his chest not worried about the blood most likely staining his clothes. As quickly as the moment began it was lost, Damon was pushed out of the small room the baby still in his hands. "Stop! Wait! What's going on?" Damon yells trying to get back into the room. That's when he gets a look into the room noticing the many midwives rushing around attaching things to his wife lying on the bed, covered in blood and sweat from just giving birth. "Ruby! Ruby!" Damon yells over the loud cries of the baby in his arms. Damon stops yelling the shock to great. He hears the midwife's declare her dead, the blood loss to severe. I just want to forget about the serious things - Bonnie's death, Katherine's transformation (or re-transformation...however you want to look at it!), and the Silas issue. Let's just have some fun and read some heated Delena romance, Delena bantering, and a few real-life problems and small supernatural issues (to create some drama and excitement) they may face in the boarding house during the summer. Let's explore the lengths Elena will go to to save Damon and protect him. I am not even going to mention Katherine, but Bonnie and Stefan will be part of the story (let's just pretend nothing bad happened to either of them). I'm going to include a little bit of Steroline, but it's mostly all about Delena. Jeremy's back for good, and Damon and Elena are having a worry-free summer (for the most part).
