Kiara Mires has been just an average girl for her whole life, until her 17th birthday begins coming to an end, and she finds herself in excruciating pain that comes to a stop when her body fully morphed into a wolf.
Alec Evans knew Kiara was his mates since he turned into a wolf in the 10th grade, and it's been two years. He talked to to her parents but they say she's not a werewolf and for some odd reason the gene's not in her DNA. His parents don't know that he knows who his mate is and he plans to keep it that way until he can talk to Kiara about it. Then when he goes to talk to Aaron and Faith (Kiara's mom and dad) about it again. Kiara shows all the signs of her body getting ready to turn, but her parents don't believe him.
There's a mysterious red-eyed wolf that Alec doesn't know about yet, his dad, the current Alpha, keeping it from him due to his safety, but Kiara meets him and it turns out he's been watching her for a while.

I was almost to the door when I remembered the leather jacket I brought. I turned back to the room and just as I entered the most wonderful smell hit my nose. My wolf started to go crazy and I looked up to see a small pale girl with black hair in a bun and pale blue eyes. All my wolf kept saying was MATE over and over again. The room blurred until all I saw was her. She was cleaning up the table when her head snapped up to my direction. Her eyes widened and she instantly bowed her head down and stepped back from me.
