He talked to to her parents but they say she's not a werewolf and for some odd reason the gene's not in her DNA. His parents don't know that he knows who his mate is and he plans to keep it that way until he can talk to Kiara about it. Then when he goes to talk to Aaron and Faith (Kiara's mom and dad) about it again. Kiara shows all the signs of her body getting ready to turn, but her parents don't believe him.
