Akane Yamazaki enjoys taking pride in herself.

Being able to inherit a beneficial healing quirk is one thing, but when she's finally accepted to work under her grandmother -- one of the most praised restorative heroines in existence -- her dream of success finally became a reality.

Becoming Recovery Girl's apprentice at the most prestigious hero academy instantly became the highlight of Akane Yamazaki's fourteen year old life.

Well, at least that's what she thought would happen.

When the new wave of freshmen arrived for U.A High's preparatory hero program, everything seemed to take a dark turn for Akane. Her quirk started to look as if it was absorbing more energy than it was supposed to, making her ability become less of a superpower and more of a burden. To make matters even worse, the eerie darkness cast by the villains seemed to become much more sinister as the safety of the healer's world was suddenly jeopardized.

That and the fact that a certian green-haired hero couldn't even manage to keep his own quirk under control.

As Akane struggled to continue as a U.A staff member, a boy by the name of Izuku Midoriya became a well-known patient in the nurse's office. Countless times did the strange hero show up for treatment because of a broken bone, causing Akane's curiosity to be piqued. The many rumors based off of his breathtaking power only fueled the fire; stimulating Akane's interest to the point where she found herself urging to talk to the senseless boy.

And once she finally did, she wanted to heal the broken hero.
