Daniel James Howell is pretty much just a loner who hates himself and gets picked on everyday. He doesn't really know what to do in life at this point, there really looks like no hope for him.
One day after he got beat up pretty bad, Dan decides to skip school and head over to the lake. He thinks he's alone when some random guy just comes up by his side, no explanation.
And this man may just change Dan's perspective in life.
