It was just a normal day. I stood in the gym, waiting for the ball to be passed to me so I could serve it. I hadn't meant to do it. But I did it anyway.

It was an ordinary morning, sunny and cold in a fall kind of way. Girls were walking around in yoga pants and infinity scarves that swallowed up their necks, giggling with their boyfriends in the hallways of the school or reading. Except for her.
