He was so perfect. His smile, his hair, his muscular, lean body. It was all so perfect. Everyone loved him. He was good at sports, he was smart and nice. He even talks to kids like me.

Perseus Jackson. But please call me Percy. I'm fat and ugly and don't deserve to be alive. At least, that's what he tells me. Not Jason! Don't get me wrong. Gabe. Gabe Ugliano.
