What would it take to break your sanity? that final push to send you tumbling over the edge into a place you can never return from? For a young girl with mysterious powers shes been careful for years only finding herself teetering on the edge a few times but always able to coax herself back.
She never uses her powers for anything pretending she doesn't have them and she usually looses control but living in a junk yard most people don't notice if she looses it in the middle of the night... except that she's been noticed and is being constantly watched.
Its hard to trust those who hide behind masks.
And Phoebe wears one everyday, not a physical mask, but a mask to hide her emotions to hide who she really is a mask she cant bear the thought of removing on her own because of the darkness that lies underneath... just because you have bad thoughts sometimes doesn't make you a bad person right?....right.
I do not own any of the characters save for Phoebe/ Ember and possibly other oc i might make up along the way. All rights go to the appropriate authors for the other characters and the batman universe

Now you have a choice, it's either you accept me, love me, choose to be with me forever, or you suffer a painful consequence. No one will be there to save you. I won't be there...to save you. She shivered at that word. She cried out helplessly. He smirked knowing damn well she needs him. Aubrey: I will never.... ???: You don't have a choice. Would this end up well? Or bad? What if Joker had a daughter? One raised by Gotham... She was abandoned. She's angry. She want's revenge. She hates her father... But does this mean she works with the side of the Angels? Well, let's just say, there's a reason her name is Sanity. --Note-- This story is going to be re-written eventually, while this story will be up until the other version is finished (I won't be publishing it until then) this story will be deleted once that is done. There will be notice for that, so you know what is happening, but chances are you may need to re-read the book a second time following this. Especially, since I plan on actually having a sequel to this one complete eventually. --As a side note-- Only 5 characters are my own: Sanity, Ryu, Avalon, Jeremiah, Genevieve. All other characters belong to DC, I cannot stress that enough. In addition to this I have also used actual quotes from the Original Comics for the characters that have said them, as well as used some of the same origins/storylines to give the other characters (DC's) more of an identity e.g. 'Death in the Family' storyline// Where Joker kills Jason... Or 'A Killing Joke' storyline//Barbara getting put in a wheelchair and the Joker's Origin... Finally, the Joker's 'real' name//'Batman Mask of the Phantasm'. There are other parts as well but those are the main ones and a few of the examples. (I don't know if the 'Batman Mask of the Phantasm' is the actual title to the animated movie but it is close enough, I think.) Won 2nd place in the 2015 undiscovered contest.Complete

Wanting to be a superhero and becoming one, are two completely different things. But becoming the opposite? That's way easier. And sometimes it's not on purpose. Fate didn't want me to be a hero. I was a fairly normal girl, growing up in Central City. A city where superheroes and super villains didn't exist... until the particle accelerator exploded. Many people were turned into these metahumans, me being one of them. Likely one of the only changed nine year olds at the time. "Stay away from me," I warned hopelessly, earning a chuckle from him. In a matter of seconds I was pinned against the wall and his hands were wrapped possessively around my waist. "My sweet little Rosalie. We both know I can never stay away. Why do you even bother resisting?"
