For Cadence Myers, you're not a true friend unless you're a book. To her, all people did was lie to you and waste your time. And by her sixteenth birthday, she had had enough of it.

With a workaholic as a mom and a dad who is behind bars, she wonders why she has no social skills. Not that she's lonely or anything. She's not. Honest. She's perfectly fine.

Anyway, why need friends if people like Dakota Black exist? Arrogant and as careless as he is annoying, Cadence wants nothing to do with the cocky male specimen. So what if he needs help passing almost three of his classes. That's his fault. So what if the good in her kind of wants to help him. She'll just have to ignore it.

And so what if she kind of agreed to help him, failing to ignore her good side. Nothing would happen between the two of them.

And so what if he's attractive. He told her she was boring and had no life. And if anything, she was not the boring one, he was. Okay, so what if that was a lie? So what if he was the most popular guy in school? She didn't care.

She was perfectly okay with eating lunch with her books in the library in the far corner alone. That was fine by her. So what if she might've wanted at least one friend in her over prestigious boarding school.
She was the quiet girl. She was the nobody. No one would want to be her friend anyway.

And so what if Dakota Black kind of stole her heart along the way. Guys like him were just here to waste your time. Right?

And so what if he made her so angry she could spit and so flushed you couldn't tell the difference between her and a tomato?

So what if he was the only one that truly understood her and was pretty much her saving grace?

And so what if he was, quite possibly, the love of her life? It didn't matter. It was just the effect that came with associating yourself with Dakota Black.

And it didn't matter that when they were together, they became something more.

They became Extraordinary.

Dan is hungry, cold and fascinated with the girl that broke into his apartment on a Thursday night. Maybe it doesn't correlate but he becomes a criminal. --------------------------------------------------- His mouth hung open, none of his high school classes had included a 'How to Confront a Possible Intruder Lurking in Your Shadows' course. He let the world fall to the forefront of his consciousness in those seconds; the fading sirens included. The cheese dust on his tongue sat sour, he could not be sure that this intruder was not related to their loud blaring earlier in the night. He swallowed the uncertainty. The intruder spoke first and they were not even polite about it. "Do you plan on finishing those chips or can I get some to go?" The voice had a noticeable soprano lilt to it, still, she sounded rough. Regardless, Dan frowned at her tone. That and the flutter of his heart as it recognized her voice. Dan's little sister had a habit of critiquing him, not always in a constructive way either. One thing she usually mentioned that she envied was his ability to recall details well; in her words, he 'majored on the minor but it only benefitted him'. He had never disputed her but he was not sure if having perfect recollection of the voice of a girl who threatened to drown him two years ago when he had inconvenienced her - he was not sure if that would benefit him. "Whether I finish them or not, if you want some you would have to sit with me, like a respectable guest, and we can share." Maybe it was the decision of a fool - but maybe not. He saw no other option but that of anyone in a situation they were inequipped to navigate; follow his instincts. A terrible idea, really.

"What the hell did you do!?" I heard a feminine voice behind me. I groaned and turned around to meet a very angry face. I have never seen a girl this pissed before and honestly speaking, I am a little bit afraid. "She knew what she was getting into. Everyone knows I am player and I never stick to one girl." I shrugged and turned around to walk away. I didn't even take one step when I felt a firm hand on my t-shirt. She took a fist full of my shirt and turned me around so I was facing her. She then held my collar. Damn, she is almost the same height as me and if I would have been any normal guy, I would be terrified of her. "You don't treat girls like trash, asshole. She has feelings, she is not some toy that you got bored from after playing for a while. Apologize to her." She said through gritted teeth pointing towards Leah who was crying her eyes out. I noticed the crowd that started forming around us. I shrugged her hand away from my t-shirt and glared at her. "I will not apologize to anyone." I said slowly through gritted teeth. She is starting to piss me off. No one clashes me and no one stands against me. Even though I am new here, everyone knows that. I saw her eyes go blank and before I could duck, her fist made contact with my face and I felt sharp pain coursing through my nose. I held my nose tight and felt warm liquid flowing to my lips. Olivia Claire is a 16 year old high scholar. She is a fighter who never took anyone's shit and is famous for it. She mostly minds her own business occasionally helping people that might need her. Carter Grayson is a 16 year old guy recently transferred to Olivia's high school. Tall, handsome guy with lean figure, hazel eyes, brown hair and smile to die for. He has been known to be a player in his last high school and he plans on continuing that identity. So, what happens when a typical bad boy clashes with a not-so-nerd bad girl.

CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. He asked and I looked up at his eyes. I didn't have to ponder over the matter long. "I don't know." I said softly. Daimen frowned and studied me for a while, "Just wondering, because you seem to love pissing me off. And most people don't. So I guess you need some figuring out to do." ********* Daimen and River were both seniors at the same high school, they took some of the same classes, walked the same halls, live in fair distance from each other, but they couldn't have been more different. When high school was over River and Daimen became ghosts to each other but then years later fate decides to bring them back together. River Sparrow hates confrontation. She's jumpy, but tries to see the bright side of situations. She's quiet, soft spoken, the "teacher's pet," and keeps to herself a lot. She's a volunteer at the local animal shelter and loves one dog in particular the most. Daimen Princeston would fight in a heartbeat. He's strong, intimidating, and pretty much has people running for the hills at the very aspect of him getting angry. His devil-may-care attitude swirls around him and no one wants to get on his bad side. Of course River is afraid of him, and she has a good right to be. But when River starts to learn more of the young man everyone fears she starts to see him in a new way. After some time feelings grow stronger and she hopes she's not fallen for a murderer. And if she has, who is she to deny him the love he so desperately needs?

"Do they not say that a good friendship builds on a ground of lies?" I joke, lightening the mood immediately as his green eyes glint in humor and a smirk falls on his familiar lips. "Do you kiss a lot of your friends, love?" The underlying tones threaten to provoke a blush on my cheeks, but I get myself together. Smirking at him, "Well, of course, is that not the norm?" *********** Dakota Moore is the perfect example of a beautiful disaster. Her wisdom is ready to knock anyone down, her self worth is an exact replica of the way her father raised her, and her pain so intense it screams over every building. She refuses to show anyone what's going on behind closed doors, especially when her lovely father gets the traumatic news that he has an incurable disease. Elijah Black is the spur of the moment kind of guy, he's the one no one ever settles with because of his angry outbursts and rude ways. Even though he throws everyone off, except for when they want sexual advances, he still can't help but feel enthralled by the freckled girl who's hiding so many secrets behind a fake smile. As they clash and try to reject the obvious rush, will they accept their attraction, or is everything just too much? After all, how can two ruined teenagers manage a youthful love without destroying themselves in the process? An Unexpected Moment

42 parts Complete

... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote. As I transcribe it here, I have tried to update it a bit and give the characters/story more depth than what I had when I was younger. Hopefully it all gets pulled together!
