Did you know?" He asks after a moment of silence. I pull my brows together, frowning deeply. "Riath. Declared war on us last night." He sighs, bags etched under his eyes. 
   "No, sire." My eyes widen at the thought. I had been off duty las t night and this morning, meaning I had spent time away from the castle. "No one sent word for me to come back to the premisis." 
  He looks down at me from his throne, make me cringe back in anticipation of my lecture.

 Brandon is just the kings runner. Doing his dirty work. Running his errands. But will that change? The queens death. A hired killer. Friendship. Working with a mercenary? How can this be good. And a twist neither Destyni nor Brandon ever expect.

He has his own secrets that not even the queen knows, however, Dakota, a wolf who can speak to Erin, can tell he's hiding something. Erin eventually struggles with her feelings toward Rune. When the threat of the Pandoreos worsens, Rune is called back to queen Eiva. Rune commands Erin to travel with Kier, a man who has a special hatred for these Pandoreos, and warn Queen Beatrice, and King Cecerion about the upcoming war, in hope for an alliance with Queen Eiva. Please let this nightmare be over with! I didn't have time to run home and they eventually caught up to me. They cornered me and Jayden slashes his blade on my cheek. I screamed in pain. I was already dumb enough to try to talk back to Twisters and was now dumb-founded to be cornered by them. "Stop!..." I finally muttered. They laughed and Jayden held me up by my shirt.
