I looked in the mirror at my bruised face and began to cry. "Why me?" I said softly. As i began to clean my face off. 'He' barged into my room holding onto my mom tightly. I looked at her face too. It was worse than mine. She was crying too, which made me cry even more.
"SHUT UP!!" 'He' yelled. 'He' was my mom's abusive boyfriend. She has tried to break up with him but it just made him more angry. I wonder when things are gonna get better. Or if things ARE gonna get better....Hopefully soon...

"Grab that plate and throw it on the floor." I told him, handing him a plate. "Why am I---" "Just do it!" I yelled, trying to hold back the tears. I watched as he threw it down on the ground, pieces of one of my moms plates going everywhere. "Okay. Now what?" He asked me, a hint of impatience in his voice.
