As Jefferey Edward Koons, a rich, immature, erratic young man visits the breathe taking canals of Venice, he 'accidentally' takes a ferry ride to Perilla, a small beautiful island located in the middle of the Adriatic Sea. Immediately, he finds himself gazing at the beauty of the island's heritage; and at the whimsical life of Beatrix Kandrakar, an Italian woman in her mid-twenties struggling to feed herself.
