For Alani, home was the ocean. The smell of salt water and the warmth of the sun on her skin, she lived to surf. But when she was only fourteen, she was forced to move from her home in Kauai, Hawaii, to a small coastal town in Cornwall, England where her mother lived. Despite having lived in England now for four years, Alani still didn't fit it. She wanted her old life back with her family in Hawaii.
On her eighteenth birthday, that day before Alani finished school for good, she received a fateful letter from her father, a letter accepting her onto the World Surf League rookie world tour, representing Hawaii.
With just a surfboard, the ocean and a whole lot of support from her family and friends, Alani must try to fulfill her dreams and prove her self to the surfing world. But dreams come at a cost, as does paradise.
Will Alani strive in the surfing spotlight? Or will she crack under pressure?
