I didn't just hear things.
They were voices.
And I didn't just hear voices.
I listened. Or at least I tried to.
And they, whoever "they" were, were telling me that something was coming. Something big.
Something... someone?

Faye Weatherly is a social outcast. Mostly because she's what people would call "weird", "creepy", and possibly every condescending synonym.
If she had any friends, she would have lost them by now. She was just "too weird". But the way she saw it, she wasn't too weird. They were just too... normal to understand her. Too shallow, too narrow-minded, too... human-natured?
With new additions to her acquaintance, and the voices leading her to increasingly life-threatening situations, not to mention her spiralling social life - or lack thereof, there's only one thing that would save her if it didn't kill her first, one thing that she could trust wholly.

Everyone talks to themselves on occasion, right? Sure, that's normal. The problem arises when another voice...not your own...begins telling you what to do. Or is the issue that you start listening to it? Does your child have an imaginary friend? "Oh," he said, as my back hit the wooden wall. Damn it, of course. With nowhere to go, his arms locked me in between him and the wall. He stared down at me as he said, "So you're trying to piss me off?" His lips were surprisingly close to mine. No guy would ever be this close to me in real life, let alone me being able to handle it; I would've been so timid and afraid. But this was the dream world. I could speak and be as brave as I wanted to. "Yeah, I am," I said. "What are you gonna do about it?" He paused as his eyes looked between the two of mine. Then, he smirked and swiftly closed the gap between our lips. ~~ In a small town in New York, Hazel is your average quiet type. In a school full of clichés, she falls perfectly under the category of "nerd" and has her own little nerdy group of people she loves to hang around. They respect the fact that she's non-verbal. Completed ✔ I watch a dazed Katherine. She whispered to herself. "Is this the part where I get kidnapped?" Is that what she thinks I'm here for? I don't want to kidnap her, just take her to dinner. I don't want Katherine thinking this. "Katherine I'm not here to kidnap you." She looks shocked by what I said. Katherine asked in a low voice. "If he's not, then what is he here for?" She's talking out loud to herself he concluded after that. Katherine wasn't paying attention to him. "To ask you out to dinner." Nicholas answers trying to get her attention so she realizes his intentions. "Katherine have dinner with me." "No, I can't" Katherine say after. He saw a look of confusion on her face. I'm being very clear. I don't see what she's confused about. "How do you know my name?" He hears her answering his own question. Why is she asking me this? I'm her best friend, of course I know her name. Nicholas didn't understand the previous question. "Because we've met before." The look that comes over Katherine's face is bewilderment. She doesn't get anything I'm saying. Its almost like I'm talking to a stranger. The thought shook Nicholas to his core because he's telling the truth. Katherine didn't believe him.
