Forget Me Not

Before.
Jensen's spent a lot of time thinking about that word. Before a tsunami the ocean recedes, warning people of the inevitable. Before thunder there's lighting. Before a storm --a calm.
But there was no calm before this storm. No thunder, and no receding ocean. There was only an after, but how are you supposed to deal with the after when there's no memory of what came before?
That's what Jensen's would like to know, but something tells her she's not going to find out any time soon.
