I ran far, as much as my feet could carry me, my strength forming into pain spreading through my muscles, stamina coming to an end as it began to burn my lungs reaching for air. I had no choice but to stop myself, hide behind an old looking tree and cross my fingers luck had my side today.Sliding down to the ground, my pounding heart kept inself in beat with the upcoming footsteps. Suddenly the sun was long gone from my skin, a tall man giving me shade standing in front of me. He gave of no expression, almost resembling a statue of long lost heroes. Yet, he was no hero, the craving look and mellow laugh he gave off.. no, no here here.In a blink his bloody sword kissed itself up to my neck, pinning me against my "hidy hole" tree. Words along with angered spit were exchanged, becoming one of his Jury Of Nine puppets was all that could save me from death's swing.
[A year later]
"I know you're not what you portray to your people," I turn myself to him, "There is good in you, and I will show it to everyone."
"I would like to see you try, it would be... quite amusing," he scoffed, giving my words, my quest, nothing giving off that he believed me.
"And I would be honored to show you," saying loudly I hit my sword against the floor, trying for his attention, "Sir."
Not saying anything, he turned around to see me walk out his study. I can feel his eye roll from here, I'm just another drop in the ocean of the people trying to help and bring the truth to justice, aren't I?
Will he let me show him, let me meet the person he's hiding; or will he kill me and this game?

He grabbed my arm at the last second and pulled me back, pressing my body tightly against his.
"You like living on the edge, don't you?" He asked with a teasing smile, he was so close I could feel his breath on my mouth.
"Only when I know you're there to catch me if I fall," I smiled back at him, biting my lip.
His smile disappeared and a frown was put in its place, "we should talk."
"About why you're being an ass to me?" I asked, feeling bold.
I saw the shock register on his face before he could hide it.
"I wasn't aware that I was," he said and cleared his throat.
My heart was beating out of my chest and I could smell him so clearly, pine and a hint of lavender, mixed with the scotch from his breath. I knew he hadn't been drinking a lot, but I had, so I took my chance, the urge to kiss him taking over.
Though his lips were pretty, it was the feel of them that sent my mind into a sensual state of intoxication. His lips gently pressed against mine made my legs shake.
His hands held me tight by the waist and mine was lost in his hair. In that kiss was the sweetness of passion, a million loving thoughts condensed into one moment. The hint of a promise. A promise of realness, a promise to love him forever.
