When King Richard is kidnapped on his return home from a five-year war, his daughter and heir, Katelyn is determined to rescue him from the clutches of the bandit force, The Justice. Leaving with her mother's blessing, Katelyn collects her wits and father's sword and begins her journey for the infamous, torture castle of Hellmore.

On her travels, she meets Sammy. A blacksmith's son, an adventurer with a quick mouth and a stubborn head. However reluctantly, Katelyn allows him to accompany her on her mission. Together they fight bandits, cave monsters, thieves and to both their surprise, their growing feelings for one another. 

But with her father's life on the line, Katelyn can't afford her judgement to be clouded. Her feelings aside, the Princess finds herself in unfamiliar territory, where every man is fighting for the Crown of Belran. Her father's crown. Her crown.
