Once he has his eye on you, there is no escape. ~Preview~ "Mallory." The sound of my name leaving his mouth brings my blood to a boil and I pull harshly against the chains I am cuffed to. My wrists are badly chafed and I'm not sure how much more fight I have in me. I don't reply, instead staring at the cement below me, my desolate cries having no effect on him. As much as I want to curse and lash out I hold my tongue; I know better than to talk back. "Such a perfect name for a girl like you." In no time at all he is squatting down to my level, his hand tilting my chin towards his face. I immediately shut my eyes to avoid meeting his intense gaze. "Look at me." The sudden sharp pain in my cheek causes me to gasp, my hand flying to hold it as if that will make it feel better. I'm not shocked that he hit me. It definitely wouldn't be the first time. "Don't make me tell you again." I slowly open them, desperately hoping this isn't a trick. After all he hates to be looked in the eyes. He stares directly at my pupils for a moment, a small smirk appearing on his face. "Would you like to know why your name fits you so well?" I pull away from his hold on my face, his touch feeling like fire against my now tender cheek. I hate when he touches me. "Why?" My voice comes out chalky and barely above a whisper. "It means unfortunate. It's quite funny actually, how accurately your parents named you. You were a perfect person in a human's eyes. Beautiful, smart, kind. Not anymore of course." He smiles, lifting himself to a standing position. "Not since I broke you."
