Topaz is the Nightingale’s only daughter, the youngest of four and the most deadliest mermaid of the Dark World. When her ruler parents are brutally murdered in a political protest, Topaz and her eldest brother Zac must go on a journey of discovery and heartache along with the eldest and youngest Lightingale children. Aden is the Lightingale’s only son, the youngest of four and the most quietest Angel of the Light World. When Aden begins to realise his ruler parents aren’t as Angelic as they make out to be, Aden runs away in the Dark World with his eldest sister Alice on a shocking journey of death and brutality. The Dark World isn’t meant for Angels like Aden. Love isn’t meant for mermaids like Topaz. But fate claims them both in it’s evil web of love, and whether the Worlders like it or not they’re stuck, with each other, and with the truths of the Dark World which lie before them.

Lilianne Marineau, aka Lili, a struggling writer like you and me, wakes up to find herself in the body of Arielle Dumont, the female protagonist in her own, half-written novel. What would happen next? She sure as hell doesn't know. At first, all Lili wants to do is survive, and is overcome with the feeling that she had been bound by chains of her own making. Soon enough, though, she realizes she had been atoning for the wrong thing--and maybe, just maybe it was not her fault. A story of a writer who has to live as a character in a world she hasn't quite fully developed yet. A terrible writer with terrible concepts of magic in a fantasy world--and yes, there are glitches. TW: anxiety/depression/existential crisis esp in the earlier chapters, but quite mild, nothing we all haven't experienced before (I think anyone would reasonably panic in MC's situation). Still overall fairly lighthearted
