I looked at him in shock, "How do you know that?" "I know a lot of things about you, Ms. Prior, even things you don't know yourself." Excuse me? "From what you can do," he paused giving me a look before directing his gaze back at the field. "To your eye color. Your parents have blue ones, so I don't see how that works." What? He continued without question, "You are still a mystery to us, as you have never showed any signs of power before, so it's sort of confusing." He paused for a few seconds them said, "You're different; you have an ability. You're a Supernatural." "Ok, I really need to go so..." I began walking back, but he stuck out his arm to block me. And that's when it happened. Flames rose on his arms, lighting them on fire. I backed up, feeling the heat radiate off his arms. I was in utter shock, yet he looked relaxed, amused even. A dystopian young adult novel involving romance, secret experiments on human subjects, and a group of teenagers' will to survive. Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! I will be anxiously awaiting the next Chapter!!" -CrystalBagot "Brilliant...ohh, this is very catchy, good work" -IndeeMaynard "I love this so far" -BrianneMorris "You've done a great job at creating a mysterious mood" -poisonedpen *** All Evita Creedy, 17, wants is to finish her degree and be accepted for a prestigious job with the city's Department of Energy. Yn Servopoulos is Tess' younger sister. She was only fifteen when the Cordyceps outbreak happened on September 26, 2003. Four almost five years into the outbreak, when she's nineteen, she and Tess meet two brothers, Joel and Tommy Miller. They team up with them and fight together until they reach the Boston QZ. Over the years, yn grows a crush on the eldest brother, Joel. But she hides her crush because, one, He's older than she is; Joel was 32 when the outbreak happened; she was only fifteen. That makes him seventeen years older than her. Now, that didn't really bother her much, at least not in this world. Joel was strong and fearless, or at least he seemed to be fearless. He knew how to take charge, and he protected the ones he cared about. The second thing was that yn was at least eight percent sure Joel and her sister were in some kind of relationship. Third of all, she was definitely sure the man hated her. What she failed to realize was that Joel did like her; he liked her more than he thought he should. She's younger than him. She was only a couple of years older than Sarah. Then there was the fact that she was Tess' sister. He considered Tess a friend. He's might go as far as to say she's best friend. They grew closer because of the similar trauma they suffered from the outbreak. He lost Sarah, and Tess lost both her husband and her little boy. He made it his mission to keep yn at a distance, not too distant, though. He still looked out for her and had the strong feeling to always protect her. And he never failed to feel angry or jealous when another man got too close. When twenty years into the outbreak they find themselves smuggling a fourteen year old girl out of the QZ to get her to a lab because she's immune and could be the key to a cure, they lose Tess on the way, leaving them to only have each other. Secrets come out, and feelings become confused and awkward.

It's 1997 in the tiny town of Peake, Alabama and everyone's talking about Unseen, a supposedly invisible superhero who kicks cow-tipper butt! To Unseen's credit, the hero is also known for taking on more serious criminals like the occasional gas station thief and ...well, that's pretty much it. But this story isn't about Unseen, it's about one of the vigilante's fans- Karen Lyles. Sixteen-year-old Karen Lyles lives in Peake with her Deaf parents and little sister Tessa. The four of them are a relatively happy family until Karen's mother inexplicably loses all of her memories and eventually, her will to live. Things get even worse when Karen's little sister, Tessa, is kidnapped by one of Unseen's enemies. Determined to save Tessa, Karen teams up with her father and her best friend, Nathaniel, for the rescue mission. As the three of them dodge gunshots, memory-erasing devices, and the punishing blows of extraordinarily powerful mutants, Karen discovers that her parents have been hiding a tremendous secret about their past - a secret that links their family to Unseen! Unmasking your town vigilante is one thing, but to discover your own identity- that's the real adventure. Identity is a sci fi coming of age novel written from the perspectives of Karen, her little sister Tessa, and her best friend, Nathaniel. As the origin story to The South Louisiana High Book Series, Identity takes place in 1997 and can be described as a slow reveal, its first half focusing on who the three main characters are and what kinds of families they come from. Bit by bit, each character's story unfolds into a science fiction adventure that's tinged with hope and leads readers directly into the series!
