I'm in a box. I know that much. No memorize, no nothing. Not even my name.
It's pitch black and the sound of horrifying sound of metal scraping against metal is filling my ears. The shaking of the box scares me, the whole situation scares me. Why me, why here, why now?
Screams fill the room, even though there is no one else here, except for me and a bunch of boxes.
The box finally stops moving and all sounds subside. I look up and see something opening. I don't know what else to do except to play dead.

She was so scared when she woke up in the box. She didn't remember a thing. She wanted to get out, but she couldn't. She couldn't even try. Or could she? It was all blurred, nothing made sense anymore. Who were those people? Why was she the only girl? Why can't she remember anything? Y/n got to know the glade, and after a few arguments she eventually made friends with the gladers. But what she really wanted was to be a runner. Will she get the support from her friends? PROLOGUE 1 year ago "I can't let you go, not now" I say holding Newt's hand outside the room where they sent the subjects up into the maze. "Your not letting me go (Y/N), your just saying see you soon" Newt says and pulls me into a hug and I start to cry. "I won't remember you. We won't be..." "Hey, we will find each other, I promise. I love you" Newt says and kisses the top of my head. "I love you too" "Newt, it's time to go" Ava says as she stands beside us Newt then kisses me one more time and let's go of my hand and follows Ava. I feel a hand on my shoulder and look up to see my 14 year old brother Thomas and I hug him. "We can watch him everyday (Nickname), he's still with us" Thomas says "But it's not the same. I love him too much to let him go" "I know it's hard, it's hard for me too" We then watch Newt go through the process of being sent up into the maze. Present time: I sit on my bed waiting to be called. It had been one year since I said goodbye to my boyfriend Newt as he was sent up into the maze and now I could see him again, but I wouldn't remember him, nor would he remember me. "You ready?" My big brother asks sitting beside me "I suppose, I'm scared though" I say and he puts an arm around me. Everything has its place
Thomas' new life began in a metal box lurching through an elevator shaft. Confused, scared and filled with curiosity, he thinks the boys laughing maliciously at him are going to roast him over an open fire and eat him. When that doesn't happen, he's left with too many questions about who he is and where he came from. In his heart, though, he knows that he must become a Runner. A boy who is chosen to run through their prison, a Maze, and find an escape. This is a rewrite of the Maze Runner movies. I don't really know if rewrite is the right word, but I'm using this as an opportunity to practice my writing. It'll follow the structure of the movies with minor adjustments, especially just now in the first one. Later on more adjustments will happen, I think. I also want to include Newt/Thomas in this rewrite as I find the ship cute. My writing is a bit clunky and all-over-the-place but I hope you enjoy :) Please feel free to offer constructive criticism.
