The story revolves around a team of 4 girls, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiou Long, as they live their lives training to become Huntresses in a world overrun by monsters that are fended off by Hunters and Huntresses. Soon, they learn to a millennia long war between 2 individuals and the secrets and history of the World of Remnant.
Plot Summary:
RWBY takes place in the World of Remnant, where humans, and half animals known as Faunus, are trained to become strong fighters and warriors known as Hunters and Huntresses in order to fend off menacing creatures known as the Grimm. Remnant is made up of the 4 kingdoms, Vale, Mistral, Atlas and Vacuo, the hunter training academies, Beacon, Haven, Mantle and Shade, a continent where the Faunus originated called Menagerie, various villages in the country and the dark areas where the Grimm are said to appear from.
Humans and Faunus all have a force apart of their soul they unlock known as Aura, which protects them like a shield but can discharge depending on the strength used in battle. They also use superpower-like abilities known as Semblance as well as powerful handmade weapons in all shapes and sizes. It's impossible for people to have the exact same Semblance, unless it runs in the family.
The story revolves around a team of 4 huntresses in training. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiou Long. Alongside their friends, they train to fight and learn how to protect Remnant, and soon learn of its history and a millennia long conflict between Ozpin, Beacon's headmaster, and Salem, a humanoid Grimm queen residing in the dark.
