In this world, we have always had the constant threat of our kingdom falling, whether it was the threat of a foreign king marching on our land with the desire to make it his own, or a disease that would decimate the population, forcing us to start over from where we had begun. Fate has never shown mercy to our kingdom and its people, it was rare for peace to exist for us, because where one problem ended it would seem like two more showed up worse than the last. The king however possessed a great power known as clairvoyance. When the kingdom's future is in grave danger the king gets premonitions in his sleep, to him they appear as flashes of a memory that has not happened yet. These premonitions have saved our kingdom on countless occasions. The last time the king had one, we were plunged into a war with a foreign land. During that war a soldier by the name of Felix Winter, received information about an assassin that had been part of the royal guard, this assassin's mission was to kill the king. Felix had returned back to the kingdom and exposed the assassin, which in turn, saved the king and instead of being sent back on the battlefield, the king offered Felix the position of being one of his Royal Guard. For a soldier, there was no greater honor. For the next 2 years Felix guarded the king from harm until he was promoted to Captain of the Royal Guard. He had become the kings right hand man and was the first to know of any premonitions. But now, 10 years after the premotion to Captain of the Royal Guard, the king has fallen ill. To make matters worse, the king has called upon him because of a new premonition and he claims it will be the end of the kingdom that they have worked so hard to protect. The king made Felix promise him something that night, But before the sun could rise, the king had passed away from the illness that plagued him. Felix had attended the kings funeral before leaving the kingdom to set out on a journey to fulfill the kings last wish.

I was an ordinary girl, as normal as anyone can be. The day some mysterious guy rolled into town and noticed me, my world flipped upside down and things started happening. Things I could not explain. I wish I knew what was in store for me after he noticed me because my life would never be the same. Now my life was about as unnormal as you can get. Everything I thought to be true, especially about myself, was wrong. Not only this but now I live in a world where fantasy creatures exist. Werewolves, vampires, fae, trolls and more. They aren't just a fantasy anymore, they're real. My life was normal like any other person. Then my world came crashing down when I met Liam, he rocked every bone in my body and resistance was hard. I had to leave my world behind after finding out the truth of what I was and train as hard as I could. There were people after me and my kind and I wasn't sure how to stop them. How could I protect so many and lead a brand new life myself? How do I prevent war with the world? And how will I ever be able to resist Liam's charm when every fiber of my being pulls me toward him? The supernatural isn't a myth anymore, they are real and I'm one of them. And now the whole world is after us. Note: This can be read as a standalone but you can read Taken first if you want. There's no reason to read it if you don't want to. This book is completely understandable without reading Taken beforehand.
