This is my first short story. It depicts a mother telling her teenage daughter about her father whom she has never met. Both share a unique moment that evokes reader's interest and invite them to make their own decisions regarding their ideas of the male. It goes greatly into detail of the parents' relationship and connects to its audience immensely. Please give it a read and let me know your thoughts :)

"Carla, your mother and I can't make you stay but we really advise you to stay and go to college. You need to move on. He's gone." Her father in his quiet and calm manner said as his 18-year-old daughter was packing. "Father, I need to. I promised that I would never stop looking and never make moves toward the big milestones without him by my side, and you should know I never back out of my promises." And with those words and a kiss on the cheek, Carla left her childhood home in search of him.
