Ben stole Vivianne's first kiss when they were 13. 5 minutes before he kissed her, he told her she wasn't like the other girls in holland. She was different. Special. Vivianne thought Ben was also special. He wasn't like the other stupid 13 year old American boys. She thought Ben was kind, and sweet. Not hormonal and rowdy. One year later, two days before Vivianne is supposed to go to holland, Vivianne checks Bens Instagram and it shows that he has a girlfriend. One of those "basic bitches" he was talking about. She cancels her trip. Over the next two years, Vivianne turns herself into someone else. Someone without anxiety, worries, and ugliness. She has confidence. Ben also turns into someone else. Maybe a player, or one of the boys Vivianne hated and someone who wasn't special. When Vivianne turns 16, she decides to spend the summer in Holland again, and memories of her and Ben flood right back to her. But she is different and so is she. When she finds out he is coming back to live with her in America she doesn't know what to do. As weeks go by she figures out, maybe she hasn't changed. And maybe, neither has Ben.
