When her father dies of lung cancer, Audrey's dad leaves a series of letters to her in his will, each dated for a significant event to happen in her life. After reading the first letter, she discovers that he had a job set up for her as the assistant to the new owner of the company. He gives her the instructions to work at the company in hopes of maybe showing her she has what it takes to someday own it.

Lincoln Ledger didn't want to inherit his dad's company. He wanted to prove to his family that he could establish his own and prove his independence to his father. But after a few nights on the town, Eli Ledger, his father, decides to intervene and get his son to grow up. In attempts to stop his playboy ways, he sets up a deal with Oliver.

"Lincoln, if you manage this company for a year, without any problems, I will allow you to do whatever the hell it is you want to do. I just think there is no point to trying to make something of yourself when something has already been made for you. All of this, everything your Uncle Aaron and I have built, was for our families. and I think it's a shame you would rather leave this all behind then take over the company." His father said.

Little does Audrey and Lincoln know that their fates have been intertwined since the death of her father. Will Lincoln push her too far? Will Audrey stay and work for the company? And what plan did her dad and Lincoln's have since the day they were born?
