Johannah Klearwater lives in a constant state of worry. For as long as people in her little desert village can remember, people have been taken. The Takings (as they call them) normally happen in the middle of the night-loved ones are snatched right out of their beds, friends from their homes, neighbors from the only place they feel safe. When someone close to Johannah is Taken, she decides to take matters into her own hands and find out why these disappearances keep happening and who is responsible. In the great country of Aelburn, a girl with hair the color of rust and a boy with a deadly secret live separate lives. While one lives in luxury, the other lives in the sewers with others just like them. When their worlds collide, loved ones are caught in the crosshairs and two contrasting individuals set differences aside to save them. Accompanied by a man filled to the brim with sarcastic remarks, a soft spoken man with psychopathic tendencies, a soldier with a heart of gold and a kind woman whose smile shines like the sun, Willow Aellana and Lucas King work together to prove to the world that regardless of differences, people can work together to protect the ones they love. ꧁ ꧂ ❝ Keep your differences if you must, but never let them be the cause of hatred and differentiation. ❞ Abhijit Naskar, Saint of The Sapiens °°° Aelburn (c) Daricca Kelly, 2017 Cover made by @Aphrodite270 FIRST DRAFT FINISHED FEBRUARY 24th, 2019 SECOND DRAFT STARTED OCTOBER 20th, 2019 SECOND DRAFT FINISHED JUNE 9th, 2020 ENTERED IN THE 2020 WATTYS
