"You're killing me," I moaned, tugging on his shirt which irritatingly still stood between us. He got the hint. Before I really had time to even acknowledge the sculpted muscle bound to his well-defined body, his shirt was on the floor, and his lips found mine. The kiss was in no way gentle. Lust burned at the tips of our tongues, each of them fighting for dominance over one another. His hands were just beginning to fiddle with the button of my jeans when the door was thrown open.
Both of our attentions shot to the door with a now very broken doorknob. Though, that wasn't really what I was interested in.

My mind was focused on a very real problem--that I was laying on a bed with a man I had only met maybe three hours ago while, simultaneously, staring into the dark eyes of my mate.

'Mate!' my wolf yipped happily, although she was very weak she got to sound very excited, but I didn't. I didn't want a mate, one that I am putting in danger. Those people said they would find me no matter where I ran to, I couldn't put my mate or his pack in danger. My wolf whimpered knowing it was the truth. "Kitten," my mate purred, before he growled, "mine!" softly as he let go of my arm and lightly touched my cheek, now I felt the sparks firing on my skin. 'Kitten? Was this guy for real?! Did it look like I had whiskers and meowed?' I mentally scolded at him.
