A sleepy village is terrorized by an unseen entity. A treaty is the only thing that keeps the village from being obliterated. Two young women are to be given as sacrifices in order to keep the village alive. Gwen lives on the outskirts of the village in a house that her parents built. Despite the danger, she finds comfort in the woods that her home is built in. But it's no longer safe. No where is safe. People are watching, trying to find candidates for the sacrifice. When Gwen is chosen, she refuses to back down and plans to find out what happened to her long lost brother as well as protect Emily who was chosen because she could not walk. Her bravery earns her, her life and favor with her captors. Follow Gwen as she braves unknown dangers, seeks answers as to the whereabouts of her missing brother, and finds an unexpected love in the end.

The story Princess Gwen who is exiled from her home, and turns to the forest as a new home. There she leads a group of bandits, but once she is captured by a rival group and the two groups become one, she gains a strong friendship in the rival group. As the two groups grow widely know, the kingdom they live in worsens, and Gwen decides to return, to reclaim the throne, but will she be able to? Or will she fail at the hands of the person she loves the most, the one she left behind in that castle?
