The Old Lady next door is a story took back in the 1700's where a family with 4 kids live in a little cottage where bridges connect to other cottages near. 11 year old, Mary Hikkins, enjoys exploring the prairie surrounding the little cottages with her older sister/cousin , Lucinda, who is now 12. They both are curious about the silent old lady one cottage away from them who just rocks in a chair without saying a word on her porch for hours, just stroking her cat over and over. Mom says not to say anything and never to stare as they pass her house, but they can't help but to at least look every time. What will happen when they decide to say something to her?
