Long ago, when the land and sea were bountiful and prosperous, merpeople and humans lived in harmony. But when a grand and mighty ship was attacked by a dark and looming force from the abyss, the humans blamed the merpeople and a war between land and sea began.
Two hundred years since the war began, humans have hunted down and slaughtered merpeople. Using their tails and organs for profit. Now the merpeople are nearly extinct and but a few hundred now exist in the oceans all over the world.
Now, a young pirate named Andrew BloodDawn sail the seven seas with his wily crew. Terrorizing both land and sea dwellers during their horrific reign. But the dark heart of the captain changes when he finally finds the ultimate money maker. A rare black tailed mermaid and she is the only one of her kind with scales lined with gold. But soon he starts favoring her for far more than her worth in gold... but her worth in love.

If Lucia gets a kiss by the merman, she'll be a mermaid for all eternity. If the princess gets a kiss from the prince on land, she will be human again. If not, she will be lost in the world of water. But it seems there is more under the surface, and things definitely aren't smooth sailing when the gates are unlocked and the monsters are unleashed, because they started a war, and they have to protect the ocean.
