Follow Alaina Robinson as she follows her path: Originally an exotic dancer, Alaina had no idea the werewolf world existed until she witnessed an attack one night. She is then taken under the arm and protection of a man who she can never stop thinking about. Then three years later, the existence of werewolves is acknowledged by the government and war is declared. She then becomes the best soldier the humans have, given strength with the disappearance of the only man she loved. But with a chance to cause an alliance between humans and werewolves to fight against a new threat, she is given as tribute to Christopher Hughes, the appointed king of the werewolves...and he hates her guts for she has killed many of his kind. But will bonding occur before the true war is being fought? Or will a surprise visit stop the war from starting?

"THE AFTERLIFE CAN BE A REAL BITCH, RIGHT?" "Henri-" I began, but Henri's hand snatched up mine and squeezed tightly enough to break bones. I bit my tongue to hold back a cry. It was a warning. I looked Henri's way, and that's really when our situation caught up with me. Wait... "Maria..." I murmured in remembrance, then sent Henri a glare. "Why are we here to see Maria Day? If you don't remember, let me remind you that I killed her friend. Hell, her master. She'll kill me when she sees me." Henri had the nerve to laugh softly. "You're already dead, Antoinette." "Thanks to you. There are other ways witches can hurt vampires, aren't there?" My eyes traveled shortly to the warlocks, Daniel and Zachary, and I shook my head. "She'll burn me alive! I'm not going in there." "You're overacting," Henri said with a dramatic eye roll with a worth of a slap across his face. Lucky for him, I kept my hands at my sides.
