What if you could never tell the truth? Thats what life is like for Astraea. That is, until she turns eighteen and wakes up in a strange grey room with nothing but a ten year old next to her. Strange as it seems, she learns she is not alone. Nica, the young girl, can never tell a lie, and because she is so young hasn't figured out how to control it. While helping Nica along, Astraea learns they can do more than just tell the truth and lie. They can tell when other people are doing it as well, but in order to do this they must be together. In one sneaky night, they realize the government plans to use them and to keep them here... forever. Stuck with the decision to stay or to give up her freedom, Astraea is forced to make the toughest choice in her entire life: to take care of herself or give Nica the thing she herself has always wanted at the price of everything, even her own life.

Feeling alone and dejected, Dany finds allies in the most unusual of places. But who can she trust? Who is on her side? Is she telling the truth? As the truth unfolds, suspense builds, and when the story unravels, it is unbelievable.
