James is the perfect son in the perfect family that moved to the small, cute town that rains, a town where thoughts are kept inside and mouths rarely open. His father works all day and his mother cares more about her potted plants than her only child, who's attending Paradise High School in his senior year.

Sage is the skinny boy that never uses umbrellas when it drizzles, who locks his mind away and watches the world with faded eyes. He lives with his mom in a run-down apartment building, spending most of his time plugging leaks and pretending to eat more than he actually does.
