The James Ardor School is, for many people, a safe haven.
For Miles, after what happened over the summer, it is the only place he can feel safe. Despite pressures from his parents to visit over breaks, Miles hides at the school, where he learns to open up and establish a strong relationship with someone who truly loves him.
When Caden first came to James Ardor, he found that after years of hiding he can thrive in a place that accepts him. He is free to find an amazing new boyfriend without the anxiety that used to follow his every move.
Brooke has just started at James Ardor, and finds it a better distraction than she could have hoped from her own recent tragedy, including one of the most amazing girls she's ever met.
Renee is a colorful person who, in her own way, connects the social groups of the school. She's never felt the need for a romantic relationship, but when someone takes an interest, she surprises herself by saying yes, and discovers why it's so special.
Over the course of their junior year, they all learn to put the past behind them and come to a new state of recovery, or at least close to it.
