Her mother was killed by her father half a year after James was born. Emma will do anything to protect her brother.
Every night she locks him in his room while she is getting beaten. One night changed all of that. Her godmother Lily came to check up on Emma though Ray( Emma's dad) must have forgotten. She was getting the worst Beating she has ever had, blood was everywhere and bruises covered her body.
Lily heard the screams from inside the house and called the police. When they barged in Ray has a gun out and was about to spot her. But one of the police shoot him first. Not killed but shoot him.
Men came and put Emma on a stretcher but not before she handed one a key and said her brother was upstairs when the stretcher came out Lily was horrified. She has to go live with the Butch family who has 8 boys!!!
Can they break down her walls or will it be too late? She even said it herself " the only reason I am alive is for James" now that they live with nonabusive people will she kill herself?
