Stories. Stories shape us. Stories move us. Stories define us. Before written language, stories existed. The Greeks passed down "The Illiad" by oral tradition hundreds of years before it was written down. Stories are all around us. They're in the trees we climb, the rooms we sit in, and in the people we meet. Each of us is a story, slowly unfolding, chapter by chapter, day by day. Mankind talking, fighting, loving, living and dying - all of us weaving a tapestry. A beautiful work of art, a meta-narrative which encompasses the span of human existence. Stories.

The lighthouse begins with this concept - the power of the story. More specifically, the power of music to tell stories. This is where my heart lies, this is why I wake up every day, and this is what I think about when I fall asleep. I am first and foremost, a musician. I write music for films, television, and video games - to tell stories.

The lighthouse is a concept album. A series of songs loosely based on a story. The story which will be written here. I have no idea how this story goes. It will be made up as I go along. I have no idea how the music goes. It will be made up as I go along. No rules, no conventions, just unbridled passion.

I will attempt to post a chapter a week, and write a song or sketch to correspond with it. Other responsibilities may get the best of me, so forgive my silence as there may be extended periods of time between updates.

A few final words: I wish to remain anonymous - which puts me in a quandary with regards to sharing my music. I may create a dedicated Soundcloud account and update it weekly, or I may just choose to reveal my identity at the end of the story.

Disclaimer: I am not a writer. My skills are quite rudimentary. This story will be a sketch - a rough draft at best. Forgive the grammatical errors and the many poor stylistic choices which are about to ensue.
