The fire goes out, and the crystal ball falls onto the table with a loud crack as it hits the wood. Where is Elsie?, is all I'm able to think at the moment. My heart leaping out my chest, I sit still, my breath a little disjointed and uneven. It's absolutely quiet now--now that my thoughts are silenced.
