In which Pepper struggles with Uncle Ben's death and Spider-Man's disappearance. Her depression is noticed by everyone, from Aunt Mae to Tony Stark. They all attempt to cheer Spyder up, but nothing seems to work.
Eventually, the newest Avenger decides on a rescue mission for Pete. Her plan involves leaving the Avengers, creating a new identity, and using her powers for evil to get Marcy's attention and trust. However, Pepper keeps her mission a secret, and the results are catastrophic.
