The Moonrise Saga plays off in Hillcrest, Massachusetts. The forest is in reality believed to be haunted.
The story is mainly narrated by Jessica Accalia Rezso, a girl who has history within this town. She wasn't always as confident as she was now, living in NY city for 7 years changed her for the better.
Two years after her accident her parents got divorced, so she and her dad moved to NY city. What was the real reason behind this? But to her and her brothers shock, their parents decide on getting back together 7 years later. Why? What could her parents have been hiding?
Then there's Connor Randall, her childhood best friend's twin brother. But the thing about him is he's different from all the other boys that Accalia has ever come across over the years. He's definitely different from Derek, that's for sure.
For some reason she has this really strange connection to this boy the second she arrived back in town. She couldn't seem to understand why this was happening. Sure as a child he was her arch nemesis. She used to crush on him, big time, but over all these years it should have passed by now? Surely she can't still feel something? It's absurd isn't it? They were just kids back then...
But still there is something strange about this boy... Something that leaves her mind puzzled. She just simply can't put her finger on it. What draws her to him? What is he hiding? What isn't he telling her? He was a complete mystery to her.
Why is this town full of so many secrets?
People don't always have a reason to believe in supernatural and mythological beings. She didn't think she had a reason to. That was until she discovered something, something dark. The real reason behind what happened to her all those years ago.
