The universe of Destiny has become so massive that it's time to look back at our original adventures. Just outside the cold, desolate remains of the Cosmodrome in Old Russia, a Guardian rises to answer the call of the Traveler. Meeting new allies and enemies, they'll try to find out exactly what kind of world they find themselves in. And try to learn exactly what they're capable of.

Destiny: War Of Sol - Book Five
This story is the fifth in a ten-book series based on the video game franchise, "Destiny," developed by Bungie. The universe of Destiny is a science-fictional setting taking place in the future, where Humanity has been reduced to a singular city on Earth, and must rely on the Guardians, Humans who wield a power known as the Light, to defend them from various alien threats within the Sol system. This saga is NOT intended to be 100% lore accurate, and should be taken as an alternate timeline from the main canon. A Destiny 2 fanfiction. Part 1: New Light. When the Traveler arrived, a spherical deity with paracausal powers known as the Light, humanity prospered and thrived. Their lifespans tripled and they expanded their civilization amongst the stars and to other planets. This was known as the Golden Age until an ancient evil known as the Darkness that hunted the Traveler finally found it in our solar system. Everything was destroyed and this was known as the Collapse. Humanity would've become extinct if the Traveler hadn't of sacrificed itself, pushing back the Darkness with its Light. And with the last of the Traveler's strength, it created Ghosts, little mechanical beings to search for deceased people who are capable of wielding the Light as a weapon. The War between the light and the dark is over, though the toll was great. The moon shattered, planets decimated, and the continents of Earth reshaped.
