The Resurrection

I remember the ghost I was. A lost tortured soul, floating aimlessly through the spirit world. Not fully formed, but not entirely without consciousness. For a very long time I had lived a bleak existence; haunted by the self-inflicted violence with which I had died. There had been others; equally tortured in their almost existence in the spirit world. For what purpose were we kept there, no one knew and there was no one to ask. But somehow, for some inexplicable reason I alone had been chosen. Chosen to prove I was worthy of another chance at life.
But first, I had to take one.
