For the longest time, humans and creatures alike have needed protection from forces that wish to rule. Angels have always taken up the role as protectors but as the world expanded and the earth's inhabitants increased, it became harder for the angels to protect them all.
They decided to create Guardians. Chosen before even birth, Guardians are created. Eventually they were limited to certain bloodlines with the case of a few exceptions.
However, some Guardians challenged the angels' authority and power thinking themselves more powerful, more important.
Now, Elijah - a Guardian in Training - must find the ex-Guardian and take him down. It also happens to be the man that destroyed his life as a child.

For as long as I could remember vampires ruled other humans. I found it that way and I believed that was an injustice. Not like I could do much about it. Once I turned of age, I would be sold as a blood slave, a pet and my life would possibly end. I never liked these creatures to begin with. Adding salt to injury I was bought by a royal vampire, the prince. I cursed the day I was born. Maybe not all vampires were the same, but for humans that was just wishful thinking.
