No matter how much you try to logically explain away things with magical facts and fiction the truth is we don't know basic things like how the universe came from nothing or why quantum mechanics is based on chance. Furthermore we don't even need to. Explaining a joke ruins all fun doesn't it? Why spend life thinking about us humans as a insignificant spec of dust in the universal scale when you can play video games or hangout with friends. They inform them that there are in fact thousands of alien species out there. The alien race, who calls themselves Opsidians, offer Earth a chance at competing in the Games, a televised reality competition game they host. In order to win the protection, Earth will have to send a tribute to the Games. They know little to nothing about the Games or these alien species. But after consideration, they don't see the harm in sending one. And realise it might be their only chance.

A snowbound woman holds the fate of the world literally in her hands. Once all sides of the box are revealed, the homeless man discovers the promise of a new future built on memories from a past he never had. The Box Has Twelve Sides is a collection of thirteen stories all connected as visions given to a homeless man in search of his future.
